Maine is such a small world and Lindsey and Chris' wedding was just further proof of that fact. When Yana Davis Photography asked me to join her as second shooter for this wedding, I didn't know who the bride was. Then, I got an email from Yana and bride Lindsey; the sister of my brother's close friend and someone I had babysat before! In fact, my brother went to day care with Lindsey's mother, Deb, where he first met Lindsey's brother Patrick! Talk about small world. When we arrived in Boothbay Harbor at the Rocktide Inn I hadn't seen Lindsey in over a decade! Her mother opened the hotel room door and there was Lindsey, putting the finishing touches on her make up, all grown up.
From there I hung with Chris and his fellows, who were getting ready in a nearby room doing the guy thing - shining shoes, watching "how to tie a tie" videos, pressing and folding pocket squares, and getting spiffy! Lindsey and Chris' ceremony was held at Wilson Memorial Chapel, the same church Lindsey's mother was married at. The small church was full - full of people and full of love - and it was an emotional one. Just looking at Chris' face when Lindsey came down the aisle says it all. They read heartfelt, hand written vows that showed just how deep their commitment to each other is. After the ceremony, everyone headed to the Boothbay Railway Village to enjoy the grounds, ride around in style, visit the goats, and dance (including a surprise father daughter dance!) With the help of her bridal party, Lindsey and Chris pulled together so many beautiful elements to compliment and celebrate their love of nature. It was a perfect day and I couldn't be happier for them! Congratulations you two! Thank you for trusting me to help you document the start of your marriage and thank you Yana for having me along.
