Happy New Year! Can you believe it's already 2018?! I feel like this past year just flew by! One of the highlights was a trip up to Maine for a workshop where KAngell Photography and I had a wild hair...
It's hard to find two kinder, more compatible people than Margo and Norman. They are just wonderfully genuine people who are wonderful for each other. And their love! I LOVE their love. It's quiet and deep and just so darn cute. You might remember the way Norman looked at Margo last spring during their engagement session, and their wedding day was filled with that same blissful emotion and more. Throw in the Maine ocean, a boat to Peak's Island, and a sunset reception on top of all that and wow. Thank you to Yana Davis Photography for bringing me along and to M&N for having us be part of your day. Congrats!
This engagement session was extra, extra, extra special. Mary and Ryan are two of my bestest friends in the whole wide world and one of my most favorite couples! They are the best. They are silly and mushy and feisty and crazy and loving and just an all around good time. Oh and did I mention they are ridiculously good looking too?!
I'll be standing up there with them on the big day (if they ever set a date ha!) so I can't photograph the wedding, which is why I was super excited and honored when they asked me to take their engagement photos. Mary and I are from Portland, Maine and I'd read and heard about this graffiti mural done a couple years back. We knew we needed pictures there. They'll be getting married in Maine somewhere on the ocean so we opted for more of an urban feel. After the mural, we wandered around the Old Port before sneaking down to the docks. A special thanks to Mary's sister Lily for tagging along and serving as my assistant and the official hair fluffer!
Now, for those of you who know us well, you will understand our extreme excitement when we happened upon a pile of lobster traps. As we were taking a couple shots, we heard someone yell to come on down on the boat. A real live lobster boat. After the woman assured us that she knew the owner and he'd be happy with it, we climbed down to the dock and jumped on! It was magical. These kinds of things are the reason I love Maine so. darn. much. We finished the evening with a little ice cream: a sweet ending to a more than sweet couple. Counting the days until the wedding! Congratulations Mary and Ryan, I couldn't be happier for you both. xoxo
